Problems running Mob Rule on HP computers

We have received a number of comments about Mob Rule crasing on certain HP computers. This was originally believed to be a video problem but after extensive testing it has been found to lie with the sound card used in some HP machines. The following information was supplied by Absolute Quality after carrying out exhaustive tests.

Mob Rule was run on an HP Pavilion 6475Z with an ATI Rage Pro and Master Riptide Sound Card.

When running the game on the computer unaltered in it's retail state the game had several problems that seemed to point to video card trouble.

The video card drivers were updated but there was still some corruption on screen and a few random crashes.

As there was still a problem it was decided that the sound card drivers needed updating as it is known that Riptide's original drivers can cause problems - this upgrade can be obtained from HP's web site.

Doing the sound card driver upgrade did not solve the problem in itself. A further change was required and that was to lower the audio acceleration by one notch. After this the game works fine.

If you are still having problems with this machine setup then please email with as much detail as possible.
